I'm not exactly sure what you mean Maureen. I say mine out loud, do you mean that you don't say yours out loud ?

I also make a notation at the top of the page where I intend to write the lines underneath,
something like this for four stress iambic
- / - / - / -/
or sometimes like this
+ 1 + 2 + 3 + 4


and I read each line out and compare it with the stress notation.

Thanks John - I have reworked it again - thanks to some more help given so generously by people on this wonderful site I have hopefully (please God) eliminated glitches that I couldn't see before.

It must be getting close to a right write - right?
