Oh they are everywhere those Urban cowboys with 4WD that never see a skerrick of dirt so why do they need them. We had 4WD on the property and they went everywhere, even places where they could never go but they always did...my ex used to say they are workhorses and not show ponies and even my Nissan Ute got thrown into the mix carting sheep back to other properties from whence they came..that always looked funny a Nissan Ute with sheep and dogs heads poking out the windows of the torneau cover and on occasions my goats as well.
Always reckon if the blokes and the vehicles look to clean then they are not fair dinkum. Even the best dressed
bloke from off a property if you look real close, will have some dog hairs on his pants or jacket, some dust or red mud on his boots and without a doubt stone chips on the 4WD
Another thing that I find interesting...when living in suburbia the first time round I had a Mazda 929 wagon that was my pride and joy. I diligently polished and washed it weekly and kept it so clean you could eat off the floors. It continually rusted , to the stage that at the end I had the doors fibreglassed at the bottom. Eventually although mechanically as sound as a bell she had to be taken off the road. My old Nissan Ute now 24 years old rarely gets washed or cleaned ( she got her half yearly scrub just before Heather and Darren got here) Didn't have the water to spare during the drought - and don't have the inclination much now. The interesting thing is she has only 2 tiny spots of rust one on the side rail and one around the windscreen...she is mechanically A1 according to the mechanic - point I am trying to make. Treat em mean and keep em keen. All this TLC washing and polishing just wears the paint off and turns them into rust buckets.
