A Visit to the Dentist

A Visit to the Dentist

You can put off your fears
of the harrowing hell,
where there's flashing cold steel
with the shot and the shell.

And not tremble to think
that the dead are awake.
If the sleepers are walking;
you'll not quiver and quake.

You won't run like the dickens
from the neighbour's big dog
or go pale at the sight
of a snake in a log.

But to sit in that chair
with your mouth gaping wide,
and to say how it's easy;
you're not quailing inside.

You'll be lacking in credit,
you'll be held to be liars;
'cause there's nothing more scary,
than the tooth-pullin' pliers.

I've got one big wisdom tooth sitting there giving me hell. The cost to drill ,fill and cap it $ 3000. How much is a tooth worth.

Good one Neville. I'm having an impacted wisdom tooth "cut" out next week - under anaesthetic. I don't want to know about it! Something to look forward to!

Heather :)

Still smiling at the moment!

Thanks for the replies.
Noel I think when you get old every tooth is priceless ;)

Personal experience all right Maureen. Yesterday. Groan. :cry:

In my formative years Marty, orthodontists didn't exist, for our family anyway, you just had to put up with how your teeth set themselves.

Too easy Heather.. :roll:

Bob, what is weird is when you take photos of your teeth and show them around! I am merely responding to Neville's lovely little poem. Will never mention my silly old tooth again!

Heather :)

This should be of interest to you mob with teeth problems - part of the email I received from my son this morning

Went to the dentist that Chung (Well spoken Viet-Aus we met who has a bar and Hotel here) recommended , small surgery, couldn't tell it from the street whether house or business apart from A4 sized sign in Vietnamese, but well kitted out, very casual, both went in at same time and watched each other get done which was pretty freaky for someone that despises the butchers that dentists are.

English while not easy conversation standard was enough to get the job done
Spent over an hour on us, very gentle, very thorough, no injections needed and amazingly 100% pain free, something we have both never experienced in Australia.

We both had one hole drilled and filled and teeth de-scaled/cleaned
Grand total for the both of us was $16.......................$8-00 each

If Australian dentists were as good as these guys you may actually get me going to them, but clearly they are friggen butchers and rippoff merchants

Save your $2000 Noel and go for a holiday to Vietnam and get the job done there - today my two are getting new glasses - multifocal with designer frames for less than $100 for two pairs then off to the tailor to get some shirts made for around $4 each and beautifully made as well.

I do not mind paying the dollars for a good job and I know if I have any problems I can go back and they will fix it ????
