Zondrae.hope you are enjoying your break and will be back soon we all miss you and the standard drops when the boss is away. This is my little effort about you sketch of "hands"
Hands.

For these hands God had a purpose
so choose wisely when in use.
They can be the catalyst for sharing love
or a tool used for abuse.
They came with no instructions
of how to use them well.
Every action an expression
that can make or break a spell.

Every heart can show compassion
every eye can read a sign.
The brain can map a course of action
every tongue can taste the wine
But hands give signs that all can read
like an extension of the heart.
A locked door or an open house
“Come In”, or please depart.

These hands have toiled and tilled the ground.
From dawn to setting sun
They've reaped reward and known defeat
bare the scars of battles won.
They have wiped away a shallow tear
when the road ahead was rough
But never bowed to show despair
or complain the jobs too tough.

These hands have given shelter
to those who's needs were great
Gave help to those who struggled
to keep a morsel on their plate.
A hand shake when the need arose
comfort to those without a friend.
A pathway to the homeless soul
or a broken body on the mend.

God gave these hands to all for reason
an extension of one's love
Use them wisely for the purpose given
and you'll reap rewards above
Give a hug where it is needed
a handshake that shows you share
Don't miss the chance to use them
an outward sign to show you care.

BEAUTIFUL WORDS AND THOUGHTS and to think Noel we are sometimes to busy to even slap on a bit of hand creme. I reckon hands, feet and teeth are the most maligned parts of the human body when you look at how much work they do

Cheers

Good on you Noel. That's a good subject for anyone to write about.

I realized something one day when my grand-daughter said to me " you've got old hands " :)

hello Noel,
Thank you for a beautiful poem.

As for this being a better subject for girls, I must disagree.
As you wrote, 'God gave these hands to all for reason', and the larger hands belong to men.
The big and the small have the same ability to knock down and pick up again. All the choices are made by women and men. The kindest of human males are gentlemen.

And post it so others may view it
