WHEN JUPITER ALIGNS WITH MARS

One of my other sites had prompts on an astral theme but I wasn't feeling the least bit starstruck and had completely run out of moonshine so wrote this which I thought might be good for a giggle because nobody seems to be writing anything much at the moment - maybe members have run out of momentum momentarily    This is what happens when the planets get out of whack  Photos of Jupiter always remind me of Maltesers with the chocolate sucked off

When Jupiter align with Mars

It was a night without moonlight and outside was dark,
Jupiter rising - a dim orange spark
beside spiralling nebulae birthplace of stars.
On the table uneaten - Milky Way and Mars bars.

The night air was hot with no breezy relief.
No hiding in blankets – that would lead to grief.
For hot hands and fingers would just melt away
the chocolate, thus leaving the Mars in dissaray.

Watching the wind die away to a sigh
he dreamed daytime dreams, chewing gum on the sly.
Fragrant scent of nutmeg drifted from the kitchen,
where his Mum baked biscuits, whilst about heat bitchin’.

And wandering by wearing woollies of cream
were the Merino rams – a formidable team
with huge curly horns, spiralled, convoluted.
Their weapon of choice when things were disputed.

He thought he might wait – watch for a falling star
and eat while he did that enticing Mars Bar,
but alas when he entered the kitchen to get it
not a trace remained – now he really felt wretched.

His Mum offered him a new biscuit she’d made
A chocolate delight which she thought made the grade.
It contained both the Mars Bar and the Milky Way.
He shook his head sadly and wandered away.

Want a recipe for a Mars Bar slice???? Want to die young???? Try this one it is extremely fattening, and goes great with a latte.

4 Mars Bars -( go for King size 'cause less aint more) sliced into pieces.
1 Tin Condensed Milk
1 Packet of Chocolate backed Scotch Fingers - home brand are fine. NB If you are watching calories use the plain ones
100 grams melted Butter
300 grams melting Choc Buds ( dark for the adults- white choc is nice as well)

Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Crush biscuits and then add melted butter, press into a slice tin. Arrange Mars Bar pieces on top of biscuit base. Pour tin of condensed milk evenly over crumb base.

Bake in the oven for 25 to 30 Min's, until golden and bubbly. Allow to cool and refrigerate. Then melt the choc buds in the microwave on a medium setting ( 450 watts) and spread over slice mix Allow to sit until the chocolate sets. Then cut into pieces.

Refrigerate and eat - now come on - it only takes about 20 minutes to firm up. Go and put a load of washing on or do the vacuming then you say you have earned your treat

Well girls.

I have heard that somewhere - you can buy mars bars dipped in batter and deep fried.
Don't think I'd like it very much.
However if you dipped the Mars in donut dough and, once fried, rolled them in cinnamon sugar I may be interested.
