SNORE

This is a recycled one. It is my first go at writing a poem , seven years ago I think ?

SNORE

My Dad asleep, would snore.
As the weather's raw howl or the last trump's call,
his stentorian blast would rival the rumble
of the retching jet engine's maw.

My dog asleep, will snore.
With her nose to her heel and tail deftly coiled,
she snorts, slurps and snuffles while dreaming of scuffles
with them cats roaming in from next door.

My wife asleep,can snore.
'Neath the dark green sheets and the warm doona, snug,
there's the roistering buzz, megaphonic and clear
of the vibrant sonorous slackjaw.

Myself, I'm told doth snore !
In the still of the night while fancies take flight.
A preposterous notion. No nasal bombardment
from me have I heard, that's for sure.

Thanks Glenny. I've got to work out whether I progressed or not ;) :)
That was also the first poem that I recited in public. A lady in the audience was apparently incensed by the punchline, and railed at me with malicious intent, !! I kid you not
