As it seems there is a 'Bloke' theme running,
We had the topic of 'Being a Bloke' a little while back. It turned out to have a different rhyming pattern. Does it work?
Being A Bloke
Zondrae King (Corrimal) 06/12
I think it would be great to be a bloke,
to learn to eat a pie and roll a smoke,
to have a beer or two and tell a joke
and be a mate, a cobber or a friend.
You’d have to have the uniform to blend.
The ‘Stubbies’ shorts have somehow passed the test,
and though the navy singlet does it’s best,
your crack is put on show like all the rest.
I wonder when I see a building site
how every worker seems to get it right,
but why is it they buy their shorts so tight.
To understand you have to be a bloke.
Like bullfrogs in a swamp who loudly croak,
if they should take a girlie on a date
and score more than a kiss, and stay there late
to top it off he has to tell his mate.
What is it in his head that thinks it fair
to boast a lot, as if he doesn’t care
about the stories he is spreading there.
She could turn out to be his wife some day.
So all you men please hear me when I say
Respect her, or your words could make you choke
and let a vale of silence be your cloak
don’t hurt the lady just ‘cause you’re a bloke.
