Fifty Shades of David Campbell

Anyone see David Campbell's piece in The Age this morning?

Fifty Shades of David Campbell

I took a gasp. I dropped my jaw.
A side I hadn't seen before
Of David, our prize-winning bard,
Tossing out a brand new card
From one of many varied decks;
Waxing lyrical on...sex!
Heaving bosoms. Throbbing groins.
Writers these days earn more coins
By writing purple prose, explicit,
On joys both lustful and illicit.
Normally it's just the girls
That toss around these tasty pearls,
But David's shown just how a bloke
Can also fleshy fires stoke.
If you're hooked on ARL
Then come to Melbourne for a spell,
South of the Barassi line
(We have great spots to wine and dine);
Buy the paper every day.
(It really isn't much to pay).
Maybe, he, who has no equal,
Will one day produce a sequel!
Your cheeks will flush, your heart will race.
Yes, David has just played the ace!

Stephen you’re being very clever lately,

I didn’t see the piece you are referring to but reading your piece is enough to make me blush.

Oh David,

Heather may object to being called a 'mistress'.
I wish we had that paper up this way, (mind you I rarely read newspapers,) I'd rush out and buy a copy

David Bazza and Shazza won me - the other bloke lost me with his epistle, trains and rockets :shock: :lol: as I didn't recognize the letter nor was it a particular long train but I remember horizontal line dancing as being lots of fun and I always liked Achy Breaky Heart :oops: :lol: :lol:

As Bob says, the article is on the Age website so those with a strong constitution (beware sex scenes and moderate coarse language :oops: ) can check it out there and see what prompted Stephen's very clever poem.

Heather, I'll always defer to you in matters purple.

Maureen, you'll be pleased to know that Bazza and Shazza got married, had two sons (Gazza and Dazza), and are now running a caravan park somewhere in western NSW. The feller with the epistle in his pocket has never recovered from his encounter with the femme fatale and currently resides in the Happy Daze Rest Home where he spends his time staring at the wall and occasionally murmuring "Urk...ummph!"

Cheers (time for a cold shower!)
David
