DOES THE FAIRY PAY ON PLACINGS?
I wonder if the Tooth Fairy still remembers me
since nineteen forty-nine, her last payout,
would I be on her books even now I’m a retiree
or would she look at me and sense some doubt.
It’s not as if I call on her with constant repetition,
a no claim bonus, I feel would be fair,
sixty-three years is a generous intermission
from laying out on dental wear and tear.
And now all that I’m seeking is just a little aid
as bits of certain teeth have fallen out
or rather, fallen in, ‘cos to my stomach they have strayed,
mixed up with corn flakes and some brussels sprout.
So, under Fairy guidelines this don’t rank number one
but, most would judge at least it’s run a place,
that’s why I’m speculating, has this been a dry run
or maybe worth a dividend from tooth decay’s big race.
A visit to the dentist is now quite on the cards,
then I’m sure financial pain will start,
no doubt he’ll give comfort and pass on his regards,
his super fund loves teeth which fall apart.
The Fairy thus, is integral in my hour of need,
for fiscal help just when I need it most,
hopefully the state of play will cause her to pay heed,
contributing to get me past the post.
