CUPCAKE DAY 2012
an easy way to help the RSPCA is by hosting a Cupcake Day at home, or at School or in the workplace. Every little bit helps and you can make cupcakes for your furry friends as well and decorate them with a little bit of liverwurst icing and doggie biscuit bones, or a little cream cheese with liver sprinkles. Your pet loving friends will flock to buy them from you and your doggie and feline friends will love you for it as well.
Cupcake Day 2012 is here
http://www.rspcacupcakeday.com.au/frequ ... questions/
It’s hard to raise a quid these days for charity you know.
So many today need a hand and money can but go
so far. To get that dollar takes some sharp acuity
and thinking outside of the square and ingenuity
to bring the money rolling in – you need a hook or three.
Most folks will give help where they can – they’re generous like that
but these days there are many names to pull out of that hat.
At times it seems the worlds gone mad her affairs she’s conducting
even an old volcano she has started re-erupting
all very confrontational and lifestyle interrupting.
So once you’ve made a donation to cancer cures and vision
supported war torn refugees and helped to make provision
for earthquake victims of the world and all the people flooded,
and cyclone ravaged and destroyed, and those who crime has bloodied.
Please don’t forget those folks whose drinking water’s always muddied.
So it’s no wonder I suppose that our four footed friends
draw the short straw in many ways though on us they depend.
They’re raising money once again by promoting sweet treats
on Cupcake Day please buy some, as many as you can eat
the RSPCA once more is thinking on their feet.
A cupcake party you could host - please invite all your friends
and make cupcakes for the humans, and if those who attend
have pets then animal cupcakes you could please have on store
made with carrot and wholemeal flour, some ground mincemeat and more.
The sale of your creations would raise lots of cash I’m sure.
to help those feathered, furred or hoofed , reptiles or paw and claw.

Ingredients: Doggy Muffins:
2 cups shredded carrots
3 eggs
1/2 cup applesauce, unsweetened
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 cup rolled oats
3 cups whole wheat flour
Frosting:
8 oz. low fat cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup applesauce, unsweetened
Instructions:
Muffins:
Preheat oven to 350° F
Lightly spray cups of muffin tin.
In a large bowl stir together the carrots, eggs and applesauce. Set aside.
In another medium bowl whisk together the cinnamon, oats and flour.
Slowly mix in the dry ingredients. Stir until well blended.
Spoon mixture into muffin tin. The dough will be thick, so you may wet your fingers to press the dough into place.
The dog cupcake will not rise very much, so do not worry about over filling the muffin tin.
Bake for 25 minutes.
Cool completely on a wire rack before frosting or serving.
Frosting:
Blend both ingredients with a hand mixer until well blended.
Spoon into a pastry bag for easy decorating.
Storing: These dog cupcakes will keep fresh in your refrigerator for 2 weeks. You can freeze them for up to 2 months. If you are going to freeze them, do not decorate with the frosting until they have thawed.

Just teasing Maureen. I'm sure the dogs loved them. Liverwurst frosting sounds revolting, but then my dog used to eat fresh cow plop, eeeaagh

Re: CUPCAKE DAY 2012
I was doing the bbqs this morning Maureen and watched the grey nomads taking their dogs for their morning buisness walk.
Makes you wonder just who is in charge I don't see any dogs following humans around with a plastic bag to pick up our poop ??
MMMMMMMMM Makes you think doesn't it.
