My Dog

My dog cares not if I’m naked.
My dog cares not if I’m dressed.
He gives not a hoot
For my birthday suit,
Or the threads of my Sunday best.
My dog doesn’t really care about much.
One thing he DOES understand -
The clue for a walk,
For it’s more than talk
If I hold his leash in my hand.
Then it’s wiggle the bottom and wobble the head;
Bark if there’s any delay;
Off to the park
With a spring and a spark,
Though the day be cloudy and grey.
My dog doesn’t care if I’m naked.
My dog doesn’t care if I’m dressed,
But if he gets out
To snuffle about,
The day has been starched and pressed!
