Julia Changes the World (one word at a time)
Julia Changes the World (one word at a time)

You do not need a truck or lorry
Full of hate (so say Macquarie)
To earn the tag 'misogynist'.
(A piece of news you may have missed.)
Julia has changed the way
We use the word - or so they say.
I know that she was not the first,
But since her speech, the dam has burst.
Words are changing all the time,
But, surely, only could a Prime
Minister take, all alone,
The credit, in commanding tone,
For changing one word's total meaning;
From 'spewing hate' to just 'demeaning'.
Lots of folk are quite upset -
Mostly blokes, a certain bet.
Frankly, I don't give a toss.
I much admire our sheila boss.
I reckon that they all have missed
The point. Am I a misandrist?

I reckon she fell flat on her face ! At least she did on the news tonight.
Perhaps a few of our ladies should tell her you do not wear high heels on soft grass.

Is that a polemic in verse ??
I heard an hilarious ( I thought ) line in an Australian comedy show years ago.
A character was introduced who was supposedly a strident feminist activist, her name
" Miss Ann Thrope."
O never mind.
Look up in the dictionary... misanthrope.

Ah yes, Neville, but WHICH dictionary? Macquarie or Oxford, that is the question!

Well, Bob, the Macquarie mob are very impressed by Julia's recent speech, but stony silence so far from the Oxford. Ditto Webster's and all the others. (Macquarie is the only Aussie one, of course, so that makes all the difference!)
