Manacles cut me and bind my wrists tight.
Ball and chain banishes all thought of flight.
Convict I am, and convict I'll be,
Yes, convict I'll be till eternity.

Gossamer manacles, dandelion ball,
Chain made of daisies, weigh nothing at all;
Convict I am, and convict I'll be,
Oh, convict I'll be till eternity.
