The Dog's Depressed

The Dog's Depressed

Come home, Jack, I'm gettin' no rest
With the mopin' and howlin'. The dog's depressed.

He won't eat his tucker. I'm doin' my best,
But it's just no good, 'cos the dog's depressed.

His eyes look glum. His tail hangs low,
And down at the park, he walks real slow.

I don't want ya. You're a real pest,
But for Christ's sake come, 'cos the dog's depressed.

   Razor blades for breakfast Stephen?

It’s no good Jack, it’s a no show
the bloody dogs depressed I know.
I’m sick of getting little rest
it’s your damn fault the dogs depressed,
so please come home – we’ll take as read
you're sorry. Nothing need be said.
No hang about now, as you were.
I see no movement in the cur.
Don’t worry Jack – and don’t come back
the dogs dead….had a heart attack.

A poem on dog depression :o now we'll need a poem on canine psychoanalysis. ;)

Hello Stephen, I believe the yanks actually have shrinks for troubled pets. I reckon it's their owners that need to lie on the couch. Enjoyed the verse.

Hmm... I wondered if she was using the dog as an alibi.
