CAPERS IN THE NASTURTIUMS




They glowed in the shade’ neath the tree in the morning
like traffic lights out on the street.
Red, yellow and green swaying soft to and fro
a great place for insects to meet.
Mr Bee was busy just buzzing along
and bumbling as all bees do,
whilst ladybug fluttered her new gown of red
which he spotted, whilst checking the view.

Good morning my dear Mr Bumble Bee said
and a bright sunny day that’s for sure
the pollen this morning is golden and sweet
and I’ll soon be returning for more.

A cabbage moth fluttered past, silky and white
wings lazily wafting the air.
G’day Mr Bee and Miss Spot it called out
How lovely to see you both there
I’ve heard there’s a ball that there having down town
the Nasturtium Plot’s the place to be
I thought I might visit and caper around
all moves courtesy DDT.

It's a bit difficult to be environmentally friendly when pyrethrum doesn't go with the rhyme and metre.

in my garden I've many white heads of pyrethrum
daisies, the snails and bugs gather beneath them
