PERSONAL CARTOGRAPHER

PERSONAL CARTOGRAPHY

My map of days seems very small
in fact it takes no room at all.
I’m building dreams and catching sleep
reality no longer keep,
but stay ensconced in my own world
without the need of flags unfurled
of nations that it seems love war,
I care not what they’re fighting for.
The bulging walls of nations coffers?
Or wood and water, gold, oil? Tossers!
Who sacrifice for human greed,
the lives of others with their need
and shifting spaces will not bring
them wealth or even other things.
For who, though they the conqueror be
can ever trust that’s ‘ how ‘twill be’
for ever after? Likely not
for soon another’s ‘hot to trot.’
And so the circle starts again.
Pure foolishness – with pain not gain.
And seems most maps of days are small
and worthless taken overall.

Some astute person said that war is an extention of politics. Politics is a powerful addiction, George Orwell knew that ( see, 1984 ) He knew that it is not about gaining space, filling the coffers, or gold or oil. It's about standing above everyone else and saying " I'm in charge "

Closing the shutters on the windows of the world Maureen. Not a bad idea. One of your best pieces I reckon.
