Some Days Are Diamonds

Fishermen are willing to give their you know what for days like this.

Did you ever head home through a twilight so magic
it captured your mind, took your breath clean away.
When conditions you’d wished for, prayed for, lived for,
had prevailed not for minutes, or hours, but all day.
When the Gods of the winds and the waves and the swell
had united in friendship and peaceful recline
and you truly believed that your soul you would sell
for just one more moment of this day divine.
And your thoughts as the last of the afternoon sun
was preparing the waters for coming of night
were of those that you’d hunted,
their strength and their courage,
the way that they’d fought to the end of the fight.
Then that sigh of contentment you breathed as they vanished,
released… returned to the waters so deep,
let you know in your heart as the last ripple faded
This day in your memory forever you’d keep.

Interesting thoughts there Warren

I'm afraid it doesn't resonate with me, ;) if I could ever manage one day to catch a fish it would go in the frying pan. ;) :)

Thank you Val...Sue and Heather. I really did experience one of those days. They don't come around often and
damn it, when they do it's usually on a day that you've got something else planned.

Neville I don't let them all go. I always keep enough for a feed and send the rest back to their mates.
