LIVING YOUR DREAMS

A little bit of nonsense

LIVING YOUR DREAMS

I wonder just how many folk have really lived their dreams,
those secret wishes we once had – those near forgotten schemes.
Plus all the other things we’d planned throughout the passing years,
that somehow have been cast aside as each new deadline nears.

But still those dreams are lurking there to taunt us once again
and tantalize the timid minds of aging Gals and Men.
It seems so hard to change our ways from tried and trusted norms,
or even take the smallest steps – consider slight reforms.

And as the years speed ever on, more distant are those dreams,
our best years are behind us then; or so it often seems.
Yet if you really want to try - it never is too late,
the world is out there waiting still - so have a go old mate.

This bloke on the forum suggested we try
To chase all our dreams before Life has passed by.
I thought it made sense. I thought it seemed wise,
So I went in pursuit of my glittering prize.

I chucked in my job (it was hardly a loss),
And aimed a few barbs, as I left, at the boss.
He said he would never employ me again,
But with my new freedom, it caused me no pain.

I sold my old car, bid my partner 'farewell',
Explaining I'd not be around for a spell.
I scratched the old dog, and I tickled the cat,
And that, as they say in the classics, was that.

I walked down the road with a spring in my gait.
My dreams and my hopes, they need no longer wait.
The future looks rosy. The future looks merry.
If not? Well, I guess you can pin it on Terry!

something for everyone there Terry. I suspect not many would have lived their dreams. Seems most of us don't tick things off the bucket list unless we are pushed to do it.

Stephen, you might already be living your dream,
But just in case I'll change my name.

Hi Heather,
I reckon you're right,
most of us as you say, haven't even got around to doing most of the simple things we've promised ourselves we'd do one day.

The sad thing is we probably never will.

(go on prove me wrong - I wonder where these thoughts come from at times)

Cheers Terry

When you stop dreaming then you stop living. !

But I really never heard of anyone on their death bed saying

" gees I wish I had spent another day at work "
