LOST LOVE
After the revolution – a mushy one.
LOST LOVE
Way down in the gorges the shadows are falling,
while high in the heavens I hear her voice calling.
I sense that she’s near me though never in sight
and lives in my dreams as I sleep here each night.
I sit by the campfire the first stars now peeping,
as all through the outback the darkness is creeping.
I daydream of Jenny when I was her beau
and we were young lovers in days long ago.
The face of an angel and sweet were her kisses,
A gem among gems with those other young Misses.
And memory lingers of days long before,
When fate took a hand and my young loves no more.

Re: LOST LOVE
I think this is meant as a metaphor for the LNP government, right, Terry?

Hi Heather,
I hadn't thought about it but you're right, especially that first line.
Cheers Terry

Re: LOST LOVE
Who says us old geezers aren't romantic Terry.
If you wanted to be really romantic you could have a go at making that into a sonnet.

Just spreading the love Neville.
Just wrote my first Haiku, never tried a sonnet - wouldn't know where to start.
