Only One Human In Me

Only One Human In Me

There's squillions of fish in the heavens.
There's oodles of birds in the sea.
The valley's broad rim,
It is filled to the brim,
But there's only one human in me.

I walked to the edge of the valley.
I gazed at its far distant floor.
It was silent and still
Save for insect cries shrill.
Why expect anything more?

The clouds rolled in torrents above me.
I lay on my back in the grass.
I had nothing to do.
An ant climbed my shoe.
I resolved I'd allow it to pass.

There's squillions of birds in the heavens.
There's oodles of fish in the sea.
There's armies of ants
Running wild in my pants,
But there's only one human in me.

Is it true, what they say Dr. Jekyll,
you are really a mischievous lad.
There are times you go out on the town
in a frenzy; disgustingly bad ?
You appear to be quiet and well mannered,
could these rumours of mayhem be true ?
Well! according to Bob Louis Stevenson
there is more than one human in you.
