BLOW AWAY THE BLUES

Post by Bob Pacey » Wed Jul 09, 2014 6:25 am

State Of Origin Three 2014
Blow Away The Blues

It took time to recover
just to think our shield was gone.
and the Blues have not stopped crowing
singing out their victory song.

We’ve copped it on the airwaves
and we’ve copped it in the news.
But there is still one game to go
so lets smash those cocky blues.

Eight years we held that trophy
and it was driving them insane.
But one loss will never break us
as we start to build again.

That pride never deserts us
it swells in every Queensland heart.
I’ll back our champion team
to rise and tear those Blues apart.

Around Lang Parks mighty citadels
the cry of Queenslander will sound.
The blood and sweat of victories past
is soaked into that hallowed ground.

I have never seen a Queensland side
that did not give their all.
They just dig a little deeper
when they hear that Queensland call.

Yes don’t ever write us off
not with one game still to play.
That Queensland spirit will rise .
and we will have the final say.

We have regrouped and we are ready
So prepare to meet your fate.
You will fear the cry that tells you.
Queensland’s still the champion state.

They think the battles done and dusted
to an easy win they‘re gonna cruise.
But Queenslands pride is on the line
and we’re gonna

"BLOW AWAY THE BLUES"

I hope so Bob. A neighbour of mine is from the cockroach state and he's already talking about a new era with the rise and rise of the southerners.

Sorry Marty you were right there were 17 dead rubbers playing for NSW.

A skill is not something that you can do it is something that you can reproduce eight times on demand.

Thank you Manny gees I forgot I was still up until one thirty as well.

Did a live cross for prime radio at 5 30 am and they will play this on their network today I think it is on The Afternoon Agenda in Brisbane.

State Of Origin 2014 The End.

There is something about Origin
that chills you to the core.
You can feel your blood a tingling
when you hear that Queensland roar.

The players knew we had to win it
you could see it in their eye.
There would be no cockroach joy
when they held that shield on high.

We pummelled and battered them
but the Blues were hanging tough.
Then when the refs denied Guerra
I thought gees enough’s enough.

We went so close that I could taste it
when they rolled Inglis on his back
but when they took that penalty
I thought now they’re gonna crack.

Then Cherry-Evans split them
put a cross kick on the toe
and Cameron got a magic bounce
and the Blues were screaming Nooooo.

Six to two at half time
and the Blues were on the slide
you could see the pressure building
as they faced this champion side.

The second half was only starting
but you could see The Blues were done.
Queensland needed someone special
and Justin Hodges was the one.

He faded to the left side
and Slater hit a yawning hole.
Thurston struck it through the sticks
and then the boys went on a roll.

Dugans try was just a speed bump
Birds acting stole the show.
Then Queensland hit the button
and this champion team said GO.

The Blues just lost the plot then
the Queensland crowd let out a roar.
Thurston fired that pass to Darius
and he hit the line to score.

Then the grand procession started
Querra would not be denied
and when Cooper tore their hearts out
I think Laurie Daley cried.

Thirty two to eight can you believe it
That’s not a score mate that’s a shame
Queensland showed the cocky roaches
just how to play the game.

They may have won this series
but their final taste will be defeat
and you don’t step into the cauldron
if you can’t stand the bloody heat.

They tried to say our reign was finished
but they forgot about our pride.
deep in their hearts they know now
Queensland’s still the champion side.
