A Bush Pome

Post by Neville Briggs » Sat Aug 23, 2014 2:19 pm

A Bush Pome

Although I'm rather shy
And wooden hurt a fly,
Yet still I raise my timid voice
Proclaim to passers-by

Iamb, iamb, iamb,
Iamb a real bush poet.
I've practiced hard the rhythmic rhyme
And now I think I know it.

So if you read my pome
Jus gis a little smile.
That's all that I can think of now
Be back in jist a while.

I may not always succeed in making a difference, but I will go to my grave knowing I at least tried.

Thanks folks. Old Heather and Maureen need to go to spec savers. ;)

Thanks Neil, I noticed that in the last mag issue you made an appeal for members of the ABPA to join in the forum. This piece I put here is an old one. Not very clever, but that's the point, I wanted to try and encourage members who are timid about posting to believe that it doesn't have to be long, impressive, or terribly terribly clever, or even very good. As long as we share something, it all helps. I hope. Av a go ya mugs.
