My Mum

My Mum passed away when I was 16 years old and one of my biggest regrets was that my children and grandchildren never got to see what a wonderful lady she was.

My Mum

When the winds are blowing softly
and a sweet scent fills the air.
When the moons rays bathe the landscape
I’ll know that you are there.

When the birds are singing sweetly
as the tears I try to hide.
When I gaze upon my children
I’ll know you are by my side.

Your sweet life was spent so early
far to early to be fair.
I still feel your sweet caresses
as I sat and brushed your hair.

When I need to know the reason
why such things are meant to be.
I simply gaze upon you picture
and hope I’ve made you proud of me.

There are many photos in the albums
of those days of long ago.
Grandchildren shuffle through the pages
but how are they to know.

A mothers love, it lasts forever
and to lose you left me numb.
But in my heart you’ll stay forever
I will always love you Mum.

No Neville

Just one I had in my files as unfinished and for some reason the theme came to me this morning as a dream .

Thanks Bob

Mum had eight kids Ron, and lost two others at childbirth. I'm the second youngest and only the second boy but I still remember about two days before she passed away she wanted to go to church on the Sunday and could not because she was feeling ill. She had a heart attack two days later. These days I think she would have survived with modern medicine.

Luckily we are all still here but the family has never been close since mums passing.

thank you and yes it is.

Cheers Bob

I'm sure she'd be proud Bob. Nice words. A shame though that in some way her passing heralded the loss of family connections.
