Very nice, Heather, especially that final line. Go well to music.

Cheers

Aah, now I know where it's come from - I've been influenced by the music I've been listening to I think. :) I had the sound of it in my head and one line and then had to find the words for the rest. Funny how the subconscious works.

Thanks David,

Heather :)

I'd just like to point out that this poem is not R rated. If it were, I wouldn't be sharing it here! :lol:

Twenty years on it would probably start like so:

You beside me
quit your snoring;
did you make that awful smell?

There, did I spoil the mood? :lol:

A little, but then I went back and reread the original and now it's all ok again. Beautiful lyric Heather.

Thankyou Warren. The line that originally popped into my head had "dreams" in it and unfortunately, dreams does not have very many rhymes and it was a struggle to get one to work in this poem but I was determined to keep that last line.

Thankyou Jeff, so glad you liked it. That's one poem up on last year's tally already so that's a start.

Lovely Heather - sounds a little like the lyrics of Leonard Cohen again (Dance me to the end of Love) - is that what you mean? As for the 'twenty years on' bit...oh dear, how sad but true! Something's going on with my icons, but I'm certainly laughing - ha!
