Big Brother

Labors on the campaign trail the cash sure to flow.
we've been down this bloody road before, we know its all just show.
Central Queenslands safe for labour so there's not much here to do.
Well if they think it's done and dusted then I've got news for you.

Campbells running here and in his own mind he’s winning.
They have them reeling on the ropes while Bruce just can’t stop grinning
Politicians on the campaign trail leaders cross the state all in a tizzy
its like someone flicked a switch and said an elections here, look busy !

Grocery prices are still rising, the petrol price is out of sight.
Jobs go on the chopping block, I tell ya its not right.
The mines polute our water and we have no say what's more.
CSG will mean more money, ah Gee's we've heard it all before.

This mines are reaping in the quids the cash is sure to flow.
But they are ripping up our farmland is it really worth the dough?
The highway up and down the state cuts every time we get a flood.
Is a decent road to much to ask ? Electorate’s are screaming out for blood.

The promises they are still flowing but they break them in a trice
Just an honest bloody pollies would for once be nice.
I don't know who to vote for now its all just like big brother.
What choice have we all got mate they are all as bad as one another.

It's all swings and roundabouts Bob. In the end we wake up tomorrow and the world still spins regardless of which party wins.

Have you read George Orwell's novel 1984 ( that's where the title Big Brother comes from )
it's a very good read, I've read it twice and saw the movie starring Richard Burton and John Hurt ( a favourite actor ).
George Orwell understand exactly what drove politicians.

The most telling bit in 1984, is where Winston Smith says that he thinks the party does whatever it takes to stay in power because they believe they are the best people to run the country. He is told that this is the entirely wrong idea. The party wants to stay in power for no other reason than they want to be in charge and rule over everyone.
How do you get this message to the voters Bob. ;)
