Considering how many didn't like the idea of writing a cinquain - we received a surprising number of well written ones - I think some people protest too much
Anyway well done everyone and thank you to those poets who had a shot at it. These exercises are only ever a 'fun' thing to participate in...there are no winners or loosers in fact everyone is a winner because you have stepped out of your comfort zone and had a go.
Something a little easier this fortnight - let's see you use those phrases that your Mum used to trot out at every opportunity. We probably have our own pet sayings that we drive our kids nuts with - my son calls them 'Mumisms' usually mentioned with rolling eyes - his not mine
Here you go - put your brain into gear and see what you can come up with ................
Never worry worry until worry worries you.
These things are sent to try us.
The way to a friend's house is never long.
The longest night has a morning.
Leave well enough alone
Don't mistake the shadow for the substance.
