BLOKES
BLOKES ... Maureen Clifford © The Scribbly Bark Poet
Give me a bloke, who drives a truck,
who works , doesn't rely on luck.
Or give me one in uniform
one not too ready to conform.
Give me blokes in Akubra hats
and RM boots – you can't beat that.
Give me blokes who ride a horse
or drive a Ute – Holden of course.
Give me a man who works the land
whose future's written by his hand.
Or if you have got one to spare
one who'll take me anywhere.
Blokes like that are what I like
not black leather on motor bikes.
Give me one who rides a bull
not some computer pumping fool.
Give me tradesman, rough and tough
blue collar workers strut their stuff
but give me one whose heart is sweet
and he will be quite hard to beat.
Give me one who'll bring me flowers
and happily spend many hours
with me. Not at the local bar
or with his mates fixing up cars.
Give me a bloke with true devotion
not one who keeps his options open
and in return for love unbending
his every need I will be tending.
Do I believe in fairy tales
or illusions? If so I've failed
to understand the real male psyche.
Are some like that? Highly unlikely.

Re: BLOKES
There is a bloke
that you can have,
who is old and fat;
whose face is lined
and his biceps flat.
Although his head
has thin white hairs
there's plenty more
in his nose and ears.
And all on his torso
limbs and back
his fur is as soft
as a cuddly cat.
But loyal and gentle
you will find
is that bloke who is surely
one of a kind.

Re: BLOKES
Is this the new on-line dating service girls? Seems to be attracting some candidates.
