SUMMERS GONE
Maureen Clifford © The Scribbly Bark Poet
Summers gone, winter approaches,
mornings now are cold and crisp.
Dew lies heavy on the grass
and sun comes late. Merely a whisp
of mist still lingers
trapped in hillside valleys deep
hidden from wan sunlight fingers.
Summers gone.

Lovely, Maureen!
Can you please send some of that cold weather over here to the coast please? We're still in short sleeves and summer PJs!!
Cheers, Shelley

Sometimes an economy of words can say it all.
A lovely verse, almost as short as the winters day.

At the risk of repeating myself Maureen, this is another that paints a clear picture, this time in very few words. I can really see the wisp of mist lingering trapped in the valley.
