Tiny Pieces

Tiny Pieces

Tiny pieces broken fragments
lying shattered on the floor.
Once a heart that loved so dearly
could not stand it anymore.

Years of heartache troubled dreaming
was it really worth the pain.
Pick yourself up face a new day
try to build a life again.

Life goes on it always will do
years slip by and memories die.
Wear a brave face for the masses
sit alone at night and cry.

Will there ever be another
worthy of such sweet caress.
Will I ever take that first step
or my heart always supress.

Sparkling eyes they dance before me
hesitation stays my hand.
Trust is something long forgotten
shattered like that golden band.

Great poem mate. Best meter that I have seen for some time. Brief, cryptic and yet to the point. Make a great song.

Simply superb, Bob.

It is a great poem, not only in structure and meter, but succinct and very effective.

I felt the anguish in every line.

Well done.

Wow Bob, this is excellent - I agree with what everyone has said here. It really packs a punch - gives me goose bumps.
