Re: The Cow In The Garden
How could you
She loved you, just wanted to be close and left her gifts to replenish your gardens soil. Oh Willow, poor Willow.....

I'm sure she went to a good home Maureen - she was ripe for breeding. God help whoever bought her she was a bitch of a cow.

Not sure if it was Willow's rump for dinner I just ate
But it was thick, and it was juicy, and it hung over the plate.
Happy New Year

Thanks Neville, it's old one brought to life and I had a bit of fun writing it. Got to go back and fix the glitch now I know it is there though - and the metre changes (did I get away with that?) because I had several original ideas and liked the ending and couldn't ditch it.
Probably not Allan - she'd be getting bit old by now!

There's nothing to " get away with " as if you did something wrong. It works fine. As far as I know there is no poetic "rule" that says you can't vary the verse for effect. So I guess it depends on whether any variation looks like a mistake or a deliberate effect. This doesn't look like a mistake to me.

Quite deliberate Neville, quite deliberate and nice to have a bit of writing time. I'm going through some old ideas and notes and trying to squeeze something out of them. I kept thinking of Kym as I wrote this one as I know she would have made a 20 stanza rollicking yarn out of this one - but I'm too lazy!
