Changes Afoot

It's all happening in NSW and maybe in Queensland too in the not too distant future, so it got me wondering ... what if? Campbell (Can Do) Newman does like his tunnels.

Changes Afoot

There’s changes afoot in the nation.
The party knows who they must woo.
They need to aim higher
enlist the Messiah
the man with the magic – ‘Can Do’.

He comes with a fine reputation.
That Labor mob knows that it’s true.
He’s waving his banner.
He’s out to get Anna
and there’s not a lot they can do.

He might want to widen his station.
Move into the Southern states too.
Then this chosen one’ll
be building a tunnel
from Rocky to Woolloomooloo.

and the sad news is...

Mssss. Hanson, Yes our much ridiculed Pauline, has failed in her bid to be welcomed in the Lower house in NSW.

However, all is not lost, Fred Nile and his mob will hold sway in the upper house. Gee when is he going to retire?

Don't you feel sometimes that voting is a waste of time? If you ask everyone you know - not one person will ever admit voting for either of the above - but old Fred and his party always win those crucial upper house seats. I'd like to know just who does vote for them - someone must.

Well at least Pauline is far more honest than some of our past Politicians
And if she had got in she may have removed some of the wool that is over their eyes

Cynicism moi?? Now why would you think that Maureen? 8-) ;) :D

Aah, Zondrae I know exactly what you mean I never met anyone who voted .. er admitted voting .. for that fella Neville is doing an impression of, but somebody must have, he kept getting back in, again and again. Did someone say gerrymander, :? nuh, wasn't me.

As for Pauline.  Well what can I say. As little as possible would probably be best but I can't resist telling a little story I think I might have told before but I'm gonna tell it again anyway. I actually moved into the electorate she was having a shot at after she was thrown out of Oxley, the electorate of Blair. Yep, Blair, named for Harold Blair the Aboriginal singer, how's that for irony? Anyway our new neighbour welcomed us to the neighbourhood wearing a t-shirt that had a picture of said red headed Ipswich (at the time) pollie and a cane toad. The inscription read "one of these things is a poisonous Queenslander, the other is a cane toad". I knew we were going to get along. :D No prizes for guessing who both of us didn't vote for, and neither did the rest of the electorate. I wonder where she'll pop up next.

Good topical stuff Leonie . . . Queensland prides itself on being the nations political basket case.
