SHE ALONE
Allan Cropper ©
She alone could heal me
of a heavy heart within.
She alone forgave me
and absolved me of my sin.
She questioned credibility
whilst webs of lies I spun.
incredibly, she alone could see
the web was thus undone.
No veil, no mask nor trickery
confused her piercing eye.
No play act nor tomfoolery
would make her think awry.
For she alone would know me
in a way no other could.
She loved me at my worst,
and filled my soul with nought but good.
She witnessed my initial breath
and tearfully she smiled
as I suckled there upon her breast,
the mother and her child.
No love of any other
can unshackle bonds that form
when the girl becomes a mother,
and first child to mother born.

Lovely thoughts in this poem Allan. It has an old-fashioned feel about it (which is no doubt what you intended). Actually made me think of Keats
Cheers

I always think that the most astonishing phenomenon in nature, is how a baby in just a short time can look at mother and say the word mum.
We each owe our very existence to a woman.

Yeah, I know - woulda shoulda coulda ...
Sounds like my Facebook experience yesterday. Someone hacked into my account (apparently the hacker's origin was somewhere in USA) and duplicated my profile and then sent dodgy friend requests to all my existing friends (so if you or anybody else got one, delete it!)
Those who accepted the request then got a PM from "me", holidaying in Texas USA, having won lotto and wanting their details so I could share my winnings with them!!! That should have convinced them it wasn't genuine (especially as the PM was apparently full of spelling and grammar errors

), but in some cases it didn't, and some actually provided way too much information to this unknown "Shelley" - because the message came with my Profile photo so they thought it must be me!!
Now I've tightened the security parameters of my FB page - whether it will do any good I don't know - but the horse has bolted this time anyway! I've been inundated with phone calls and emails from puzzled FB contacts.
Now Bob - you probably thought I wouldn't be important enough to have hackers in the USA after me! Just shows you
Cheers
Shelley

yeah you are right some people believe all they read on the web.
