WINDING ROADS

WINDING ROADS
Shrug your shoulders at the cold east wind, wrap your coat across your chest
thrust icy hands deep into pockets, carry on and do your best
though a winding road takes far longer to travel you will find
that distances insurmountable are often in your mind.
If the troubles that befall you seem at times to much to bear
build a bridge and carry onwards – ‘fore you know it you’ll be there.
Your dreams can become reality – if you really want them too
they may take a little longer to achieve, sometimes dreams do.
Feed the birds and smell the roses, wonder at the world around.
If you are loved then you are blessed for there are those that loves not found.
Never put off till tomorrow things that you could do today
for the shortest road is quickest – winding roads steal time away.
