The Queanbeyan Bush Poets Hosted a Get Together
And you all may say where and why were we not told and why

Okay now before you blow a valve or as such here are the details

3 because we wanted to that’s why
4 why did we do it ( to get together a wide and varied group of writers)
5 FAW was represented ABPA and a mixture of poets free style and other wise

There have been many statements about the likes and dislikes of all various types of poetry on the forum .

41 Poets or should I say wordsmiths gathered from around the district from Laggan, Bungendore, Canberra and Queanbeyan for a get together.
We had a sit down lunch that was very yummy and after that, we spruiked our stuff.
We told ours and they told theirs.
All various styles were told and were appreciated by a very wide and diversified group
And this is what it is all about.
Joining together and sharing the magic of the written words.
and hopefully there will be many more gatherings

28/8/2010 Bill a little bit out of date.

I cannot remember many of our members saying that they do not appreciate other forms of poetry. Some don't and that is their perogative.

We have a monthly meeting for music and poetry at our local art gallery where all tpyes of poets meet and enjoy all forms of poetry.

The main objection was to free verse being posted on a site specifically intended for Bush Poetry as per our site instructions.

Been over this subject many times and cannot see any reason why we would want to go down that discussion track again.

Hey Bob, you used the word 'perogative' above. I only learned recently that the proper spelling is 'prerogative'. Looks stupid with the extra R in there, but that's what the dictionary says. Isn't that fascinating? Well, not really, but we all learned something ...
