GOSFORD BUSH POETS
Good Afternoon Everyone,
Last night those attending the Gosford Bush Poets were treated to an absolutely crackerjack night of fun, fine poetry and great entertainment.
Just as was predicted our very special guest, Carol Heuchan produced a wonderful
performance of marvellous poetry and entertainment that had the audience torn between laughter and tears. From her tales of inept delinquents embarking on horseback for the first time to her escapades with the famous tractor she won to the heartbreaking tale of a wounded carrier pigeon in wartime, Carol demonstrated her incredible ability to turn the spoken word in to an art form.
Prior to Carol's great presentation we heard from local poets: Crinkle; Linda Scott; June Hilton; Ken Tough; Jill Nevile; Peter Mace; Bob Rider; Shirley Rider; Norman Allen; Jan Lock; Dave Proust and our resident tenor Nick Lock.
A great night with some sterling performances and amazing original poetry not forgetting for a moment the beautiful rendition of Henry Lawson's "The Water Lilly" sung by Nick Lock.
The Gosford Bush Poets will meet again at 7pm at the Gosford Hotel, Gosford on Wednesday 29 August.
Everyone is invited, entrance is absolutely free and we would love to see you come along and share your own or your favourite poem with us or just simply enjoy what is always a great night of fun and friendship.
Very Best Regards,
Vic Jefferies
