Southern Shoalhaven Timber Festival

The Southern Shoalhaven Timber Festival is on again this year on 24th Nov 2012 at the Dunnlewis centre ULLADULLA.
There will be many displays of the timber industry both historic and present day. This is a not for profit event again this year with all returns except for necessary purchases being handed over to the Dunnlewis Youth Foundation which is a youth development project created by Gale Dunn as a memorial to all the Ausies includingn her son killed in the Bali bombings.
Stage one is up and running and stage two is on the drawing board but much more money needs to be raised to complete her work.Stage one has a twelve lane bowling alley, art gallery, kitchen, dining room, kitchen, caferteria, lounge/entertainment area and stage two will incorperate a national gymnasium facility, multi purpose auditoriumwiyh seating for up to 1500 people theatre style, comunity meeting rooms, basketball court, etc etc.
There will be two bush poetry entertainment gigs on the day one in the morning and another after lunch.Greg North will feature in both and walk up poets are invited to strut their stuff on the stage
There is also a written poetry comp with the theme History of The Bush with trophys to third place and prize money of $250 $150 $100 however a condition of entry is that unless the winners are present at the festival to be part of one of the entertainment gigs the placing will be recognised and the trophy will be forwarded by post but the prize money will be forfiet to the Foundation.
All monies to run this show has been raised from local sponsors and donation in either cash /product/time.
The Dunnlewis people are NOT running the festival but it is being held at the Dunnlewis Centre Ulladulla
