This is an inaugural event in honour of our good mate ‘croc’. There will be no formal Performance Competition for this first year, but a One Minute Cup will be held, with mysterious prizes to be awarded...and doubtless a Yarn Spinning comp...with even more mysterious prizes. We will be launching croc’s book, ‘The World According To Croc’ at the event. This shindig is essentially a gathering of friends & poet mates, to celebrate croc’s life & to say our farewells, as sadly, he is terminally ill. It is therefore not a highly structured event; moreso a working bee to help establish the venue, with as much camaraderie, music, & fun, as we can make together. Three days are scheduled for the event with the Saturday night being for the announcements, book launch & an open mic, & weather permitting, tucker around a campfire. There is ample (unpowered) free camping with good amenities, down by our lovely Dawson River, 2 minutes from the town centre. There is also cheap powered camping at our showgrounds, only a block from the venue. Everyone is very welcome to attend & I hope you will all support the written competition to help us fund the project. We are hoping it will develop into a popular yearly attraction for our little town, & one that the poets can feel ‘ownership’ of, through helping to establish it.
