LOVE/HATE - CLEAN SLATE
In a game of deception they both took a part,
these two who were lovers but now grown apart.
There were layers of silence and oversights many,
also tears and much sadness and some would say any
person who knew them could see, shifting walls
was a disaster waiting. For even though halls
and rooms had been changed , and one home they now share
it has valleys of silence and mountains of stairs.
If the picture was so clear why did they not see?
Were they dazzled by lust and sexuality?
Were they living on cloud nine up there in the sky?
Does the world seem so different when you’re on a high?
Or were they just stubborn, deluded and young,
too pig headed to listen to words from the tongue
of those others who loved them and could see the flaws
that hid dark and brooding behind tight closed doors.
You relinquish a part of your soul when you wed.
and forsake all others – both cleave to one bed.
Your life is essentially half of a whole
and friends mostly mutual. You share the same goal.
But if the game plan is a secret from one
then the game will be lost and the plan comes undone.
When you lose trust and confidence – there goes the game
and try as you might things are never the same.
