Thanks Marty, Ross, Manfred, Sue & Darren,

It's always so encouraging when your peers enjoy something you've written.

Cheers Terry

Words fail me Terry for any words that I utter would fail in the pure sentimental brilliance of the pictures and feelings portrayed in that that poem

Beautiful poem, Terry. How about the sequel?

Thanks Matt,
Not too sure about that Matt, just a partly domesticated old bushie mate.

Many thanks Bill,
If something you write just touches one person, it leaves the writer feeling pretty pleased with themselves.

Thanks Stephen,
The sequel is seldom as good as the original mate, or so they tell me.

G'day Terry,

Me too. I expected there to be a little more. Well done. I'll be watching for this one in higher places.

Hi Zondrae thanks for the comment.
I had considered adding a bit more to it but thought it was pretty long anyway and didn't want it to become boring, besides I was thinking that leaving people wondering about the final outcome wasn't such a bad thing.
I used to like Leonie's old byline. 'A Poems Never Finished It's Just Abandoned' (I think she used to also where that quote originated as well)

Hi Terry, that quote was from Paul Valery, a french poet I believe. But this one doesn't feel abandoned, it feels finished - to perfection - just the way it is. Love it, sad though it is.

Thanks for commenting Vic much appreciated.

Hi Leonie
Glad you liked this one,
It's a fine line at times knowing where and when to stop.
I always reckon wishing for a little more is better than thinking the poems dragged on for too long.

Terry, Aliens was better than Alien. And Mad Max II was better than Mad Max. And I reckon Back To The Future II was better than Back To The Future. I know what you mean about Jaws II, though. I didn't think much of The Sting II, either.

Andy's Return was maybe not quite as good as Andy's Gone With Cattle, but it was still a pretty good poem.

Ginger Mick was kind of a sequel to The Sentimental Bloke, and that did OK.
