Wrote this for my Mum and my Dad - Dad passed away three years ago 15/11 and never got to see his great grandson, the first boy born in our family since my son 46 years ago, Mum always said what a shame that Dad and Harley never got to meet. We are not convinced they haven't because Harley often stares into space and then starts grinning and laughing, but for Mum I wrote this and put together this picture.
SOMEONE TO WATCH OVER ME
He sometimes sits and stares into the corner,
and sometimes both the dogs are staring too,
there’s nothing there at all that he is watching,
or are there secrets kept between these two.
You see his little face watching intently.
He then falls giggling in a crumpled heap,
then snuggles down and closes up his tired eyes .
An unseen hand is rocking him to sleep.
We know it’s Dad, we feel his presence often.
We’ve all had moments we knew he was there.
Three years have passed since he climbed Heavens stairway,
but all of us still feel his loving care.
We’ve elevated him to guardian angel
our family connection strong and true.
For all of us at times need guardian angels
and Dad was on the spot…we said he’d do.
