i actually won a DPA for this. How google is that.

Google It

The highways packed with traffic
and the speed is getting worse.
The so called Super Highway
is offering up a curse.
Take your chances in the fast lane
if that's what turns you on.
This crazy world of ciba space
is just sweeping us along.

A window into another world
what greets our ageing population.
This scary world of technocrats
could ruin this whole nation.
There's no escape back to the past
us poor old folk are doomed
Either toe the line and join the race
or we will be all consumed.

Learn to speak the lingo first
what's an iPod dare you say
A blackberry, cell, or hardware
and your memory banks astray
What's a blog,a spam, a tweeter
a backup, or a Ram.
A virus or a memory loss
or a cyberbully scam

You have to have a password
a window and a mouse.
And more than just one gigabyte
before you set up house
Macintosh takes on a whole new meaning
its not a coat to keep out rain
Its a silly little set top box
that could drive a man insane.

But never fear old timer
there's a new life there I pray
We can spend our time just trolling
or go Phishing every day.
No need for memory loss or password
too know just where we fit
If all else fails we'll use our backup
phone a friend or Google it.

Reminds me Noel of the title of the musical by Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley
" Stop the World I want to get Off " ;)

Excuse my lack of knowledge, what's a DPA ?

If Zondrae hasn't told you shame on her. Distinquished poets award. a very precious little stick we win when we are clever in our group. I can say no more.

Ah Noel, Zondrae has explained that to us. I had forgotten. I can't remember where I put my glasses five minutes ago, how could I remember all the awards.

G'day Neville,

As well as our 'in house' DPA, which is hotly contended for, we used to award a virtual DPA to our email contributors. But that was a while back. I would have thought you knew about it. I thought you had written poems on some of the weekly topic. I used to post the topics and down load any poems which I took to our group to have read out. Although the main activity was on Ric Rafftis's site. I think he has finally pulled the plug on that one. I was able to access it last week but can't get in to it now. Our topic of the week is "Mother's best Advice". Should bring out some good poems. I have thoughts brewing in the back reaches or my little pea brain. It is an overcast day today, I might get an early start on my poem.
