I really enjoyed the True History of the Kelly Gang as well, Glenny. I'm not sure how accurate it is, but it's a good read...
One of Peter Carey's better ones, IMO. I've also read one on Kate Kelly... can't think of the title offhand, but it shows that it wasn't only the men who suffered.

How do you do Robyn & welcome. I've been busier than a dog with fleas & only get to pop in occasionally of late. Hopefully it'll settle down for a while soon.
I think Cleary would be pretty hot on research...but then again....writers...never let the truth get in the way of a good story. Given a fair chance I think Ned would have just loved to farm his plot, so I feel sad for him on that score.
