It's interesting, Slim Dusty didn't write the words of The Pub with No Beer, the song writer was Gordon Parsons. And the tune wasn't written by Slim either. The tune is the slightly adapted melody of a song called " Beautiful Dreamer " by the 19th Century American songwriter Stephen Foster. So much for the all aussie bush song
