Believe it or not, we were all beginners once Dot - some of us not that long ago. It is very scary to post your first poem; it's like releasing a baby to the world. Perhaps leave the internal rhymes for now because I think you are making it difficult for yourself. Keep it simple to start with. Even try some simplerhymnig exercises. They don't have to be masterpieces - just something for you to learn by.

Sue's only been writing a year and look how well she is doing now. I've only been doing it just over 2 years. MartyB has made huge improvements in his metre.

We have all learnt from posting poems and getting feedback so keep at it and don't feel embarrassed or shy. :)

Take heart Dolly - we have all I think struggled with metre - those weak and strong beats are buggers to get your head around. Like Zondrae I am still trying to do it and Glenny has been trying to get it into my thick head, but struggle on we do.

You keep at it and one day the penny will drop - might be next week or might be next year, but fall it will. This poem is worth working on IMO

Cheers

I hope not Dot. Scary?..maybe for a newie...but threatening ? please, never threatening.
Anyway as you gain facility and get used to the way things run here, you'll be right.
I know you can do it because those limericks that you posted were very good.
