There is still no such thing as a proper song without a really cool screaming guitar solo like we use in my band, Neil Naucous and the Nimbin Love Children. I'm sure people told this to Mozart but he seemed deaf to the suggestion.

Wrong bloke, it was Beethoven who was deaf. :)

Which is probably what will happen to the band members standing in front of the screaming guitar.

Ah that's right Mozart cut off his ear after painting his piano. And Nev, if you have ever seen my ears, I have years left in the Rock industry! lol

Take care

You're all bloody mad.
I'm off to listen to ''The Planets''...good old Gustav!! Hey Keats...''Mars The Bringer Of War'' would give y'old blaring guitar a run.....

Neviiile!! The theme from ''E.T.'' is pretty goodo for 'modern' times. I play it in my car & I'm always shocked & dismayed when my vehicle does not respond to the bit where the boy cycles offa the cliff & pedals on through the air. I always expect it to 'lift' & soar....bit of a downer that....happy Easter!! :D

You reckon we're mad :o :o

The Planets is a great piece. It was written in about 1915 or thereabouts, have you noticed Glenny that the bit you mentioned, Mars, reminds you of the Star Wars theme. A man ahead of his time Gustav Holst. I'll bet that John Williamson was familiar with The Planets music.

By the way, for the feminists here, Gustav's Holst's daughter, Imogen Holst, became the first woman to gain recognition as a major orchestra conducter. A woman in charge !! frightful.

But did she put in a mean guitar solo like Slash?? lol

Not really into the planets, bit old for me, but do enjoy the Dark Side Of The Moon. And it had rhyming words!!!

Hey Nev, I don't know if it's baldedash but I heard that the music for ''The Planets'' was discovered after Holst's death many years later?? Over to you, oh knower of all things obscure.... :D

course not Keats, Imogen Holst was a real musician

Well Glenny, The Planets was first performed with Adrian Boult as the conducter in 1915. Between 1923 and 1926 several performances of the complete work were performed with the composer Gustav Holst as the conducter. I'm afraid that myth...IS BUSTED :)

( I didn't know that, I just looked it up  )
