Homework w/e 12/11 The Unknown Soldier.

Post by Neville Briggs » Fri Oct 26, 2012 10:10 am

THE UNKNOWN SOLDIER

We know your face, we know your name,
we waved as you went off that day.
It seems unknown's a sort of fame
but, we know you, we know your name.
So many of you went away,
and where you fell is where you stay.
We know your face, we know your name,
we cried when you went out that day.

It is amazing the emotion we feel for these blokes and their families. We don't know them personally and yet we do - and we weep for them. You've captured that feeling Neville in just a few poignant, sad and heartfelt words. Well done.

Cheers

Thanks for commenting Maureen, Bob.

Ah Bob, short is not necessarily best. If short can do the job well, then nothing more is needed. If short can't do the job, then there has to be more.
I keep in my store of useful guidance sayings, Jonathan Richardson's comment about the word power of the famous English poet Milton " Fewer would not have done the turn, more would have been superfluous ". :) I've got to learn how to stick to that. ;) :)
