I wonder why?
G'day,
Now I know I have not been as active lately as I once was however, I have just posted a poem in the Kids section and wondered why... more of our very successful writers do not post many poems - and if they do why have they not set up an index of their posted poems? I have kept a running count of the poems posted and have (with John Peel's excellent instructions) kept my list in alphabetical order. I notice this is the 46th poem. Is Maureen the only poet who has posted more than me?

The original idea of the section was to be a convenient place to direct someone who wanted to look at the poems that you have posted on the forum. It appears that the permissions on there have changed and it is members only to read there now. It needs to go back to being able to be read by the public (without posting access, the same as for non-ABPA members), otherwise it is not all that useful to keep the lists maintained.

Yes, John, I was thinking that, too.

Re: I wonder why?
I posted part of this on The poetry index page, but thought I probably should have posted it here - Terry
Hi Zondrae,
Wow 47.
To be honest I don't know why I haven't bothered to do the same as you and others, I haven't really given it a lot of thought to be honest.
There are quite a few people (Poet's) who don't or rarely post anything anywhere on the forum.
I used to post most of my poems here or on Bush Verse once, but haven't been very active of late.
But it's good to see a few loyal forum poets are keeping things ticking nicely along
Regards Terry

I agree with John.
I'd noticed that the index of poems was no longer viewable
by the non registered public - had me a little puzzled.

Re: I wonder why?
Cause Zondrae, I'm a senior, and the work of putting up an alphabetic list makes me dizzy with exhaustion. and I have to go and lie down for my afternoon nap, even it is only 11am .
Besides I am not a successful writer, unless that means I am more or less satisfied that I have done as best I can for the moment, then I am successful.

Re: I wonder why?
I don't use it because I haven't written that many poems and I don't think anyone would be interested enough to go and look them all up - and even if they did, they've probably changed by now anyway.

Zondrae,
I also wondered why not too many poets use that section - I think it is very useful. However, it should be available to the general public, for you would be surprised how many people will go back to previous poems if they like a poets work.
I sometimes glance through the people on line on the bushverse site where you can actually see what they are viewing, and you would be amazed at the posts they are looking at. So Heather, don't think that someone wouldn't be interested in going back to your previous poems!!
Marty, that section is probably of more use to the general public who are not on the site regularly. If they come across a poem that they like, they can easily look back at that poets previous work without having to scroll through page after page trying to find them. If I hadn't been on the site for awhile, and saw a new poet who's work I like, I would use it to see what else they had posted! I know you have options to view a persons previous posts, but that includes all their chat type posts also - if they are very active on site, you can scroll through a lot of posts before you get to one of their poems!!
