It's a New Year

Post by Maureen K Clifford » Tue Jan 01, 2013 7:00 am

Not sure what didn't happen here last night. After the family fireworks around 8pm everything seemed to come to a lull.

Mahalia had her wobbly boots on sedated prior to the expected midnight massacre of money going up in smoke and yahoos making noise in the night but nothing???

Woke up this morning and sat on the back steps with the dogs and a coffee and welcomed the dawn.

It’s a New Year, and a brand new day

The new year came in with a whimper
the old didn’t leave with a bang
‘twas as quiet as a grave in deep winter
and down here seems no one gave a hang.
There were no ringing bells or loud music
nor cries of excitement so shrill
Is the New Year here yet? Well it seems so.
Carry on then – OK I just will.

Happy New Year everyone - make of it what you will.

Cheers

Maureen

Sounds like as good a way to bring in the new year as any, Maureen. Happy New Year!

Happy New Year Maureen. :) I enjoyed a moon lit lake and trees, stars, and then party poppers, sparklers - can't remember the last time I had sparklers, :D the Sydney fireworks on Tv and then a round of Auld Lang Syne. It was a beautiful night.

Heather :)
