Re: Help for croc & Glenny?
G'day all,
Glenny my dear, my heart is with you. I have only just come across this post.
As I read it out my darling Wayne has said we could be there. He is a handy chap and there is not much he can't do. Provided his next check up with the oncologist goes well we will be there for sure.
As for me, I can do lots of stuff like cook, paint, garden and help with putting books together. I could also sell raffle tickets down here if a raffle is a goer. There are a couple of folk festivals, and other bookings I have between now and the end of March. The National FF ends on Easter Monday 1st April that is my last gig for a while so I'll be free. We can bring our own tools. I'll ask around the poets at the festivals and see if I can get some donations of Cd's or books etc. and naturally you will have a copy of my humble offerings. I can also do things like 'man the door' on the day/days of performances or simple meet and greet. If a written competition is on.. I can spread the word through the South Coast Writers Centre and other groups round Wollongong. and you could be sure to get entries from my mob IBP.
I also make a little novelty doll which sells for $5. I can make and donate a batch of them. If you look on my facebook page I will post a picture and speel. And if any poets who read this would like one, I can do mail orders. ($5+$3 post).
The free camp on the River is lovely we stayed there about four years ago.
As I said I have just discovered this post, or I would have responded sooner. Give the old reptile my fondest regards and a little kiss on the cheek. and for yourself a big hug and know my prayers are with you.

Hi Glenny,
Perched on a mountain in the Snowy's to get a signal.
Sounds like a great idea, not sure where I'll in April but would love to be there if possible, just where the heck is your place anyway.
Cheers Terry

Hey Mal...should we target May do you think? (I'm just a little concerned at croc's rate of deterioration if we go much later than then...?) I'll ask Manfred if there are any outstanding events for April/May that may clash.
Dear, dear Zondrae & Wayne...thank you sooo much. I am getting blown away by these responses. You are all such bonza mates. We may finally get to meet you, love. I'd love that. (BTW I've pm'd you.)
Hully...I haven't even met you yet
& still you are so supportive. Thanks mate...heaps. But I think we live a long way from you...? Would be overjoyed to see you here though...(& bring ya guitar, eh? You probably hear that a hundred times a week. Lol.)
Terry...me old china...We live in Theodore Qld (approx 2.5 hrs south west of Rockhampton...I think it's about 5 hrs to Toowomba. Thank you too mate...& good luck in the Snowy.
Bless you all
xx Glenny

Glenny
Sorry I can not make it because of health reasons but can still do more of the IDEA CD that was produced for the ABPA members.
There was Frank Daniel, Glenny Palmer, Hully, Dave Smith, Neville Briggs, Bill Williams, Bob Pacey, just of hand cannot remember who else was on there.
But my thoughts and friendship go with you and help if I can.

Thank you Bill me old battler. I'd love to have one of your CD's in the raffle basket if you can manage it. I know you would love to be here too Bill....but as they say, & I am quickly learning... ''old age is only for the brave''. NOT that I'm calling you ''old''...old mate...Lol.

Re: Help for croc & Glenny?
If the dates stay the same, 26th, 27th, 28th April, that is great for Hal and I, sorry it is not right for Marty. Crows Nest ends on 21st so we would be able to be in Theodore a couple of days before - probably the 23rd - to help in whatever way needed and could stay on for a day at the end for clear up, etc. We have stopped over on the river before and the facilities are fine for caravaners.
As the 25th is Anzac Day - just another preliminary idea but... perhaps something on that day/night, in/for the town? If it is a holiday then the event could even be held on that day if it suited others better.
Love 'The Bronze Crocodile' - it ties in with the other outback awards.
A great gathering will ensue. Take care of each other.
lol

I'd still go for "The Bronze Possum".

Stephen you can have this flaming possum...& bronze the blighter yourself....I've only got 4 flaming mangoes left now...
Hey again Brenda. Many thanks love. I'll think more on this over the next few days. I've got lots of appointments to attend this week & I'm a tad brain dead tonight. Good food for thought. I should post specifics soon....as soon as I can. Just got some 'majors' re croc's overdue therapies to sort first. I really like 'The Bronze Crocodile' too. I just hope it doesn't miff the Winton crew...

hay Glenny,
Why settle for bronze. What's wrong with silver or even Golden. Yes, I like it
'The Golden Croc Award'. Waddayathinka that!
