Nomads

Post by Bob Pacey » Fri May 03, 2013 7:09 am

Not long to go now.

Nomads

As the daytime light is fading and the twilight starts to glow.
You see ghostly bodies slowly moving, shadows drifting too and fro
The firelight flames begin to flicker as voices in low murmurs speak
Chairs fold out with clicks and chatters, tired old bones groan and squeak.

This is a long held fine tradition embedded way back in ancient times
But it had such small beginnings some do not know the heights to which it climbs.
The chink of glass and bottle as the wine begins to flow,
the hiss of opened stubbies in the nights sweet afterglow.

They gather here to celebrate with good friends both one and all
New members join this happy throng drawn by the campfires welcome call.
Once again we see the good times without worries or a frown
It is winter in the southern states and the nomads are back in town.

Geez ugg boots, beanies and big duffle coats - looks like they brought the weather with'em.

May they be warmed by the embers of your glowing persona - onya Bob :D

Are they thin skinned or has it turned that cold up there in Yeppoon? Would have thought you were still enjoying balmy nights Bob.

Good on you that's quite an audience :D

G'day bob

You seem to have captured the attention of them all except the lady in red in the second row who's looking down rather sadly at what must have been an empty stubbie.

Yeah Irene they are a great bunch of people almost like family now some I've known for over six years . we lost one last year had been coming to the park for 27 years and passed away two weeks after he got back home,

We do not get as many overnighters as the parks further out west but enough to enable us to put on a few shows during the season.

Cheers Bob
